local middle school students try their hand at estimating percent cover and observing plant functional traits with the Mt. Bio lab at a science outreach event held by the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR).

This past week Nyika Campbell gave a talk at the Front Range Student Ecology Symposium in Fort Collins, Colorado. Presenting in the global change and conservation session Nyika discussed the lab’s current work investigating plant reproductive success in the face of global change. Her presentation was awarded an Outstanding Oral Presentation recognition within the section.

Nyika Campbell presented a poster at this year’s Guild of Rocky Mountain Ecologists & Evolutionary Biologists meeting, discussing how range-shift simulations in alpine plants may indicate early signs of plant community change.
